What are carbon credits?

NEW PROFITS for your company!

1 carbon credit
= 1 metric tonne of CO2 reduction
= 1,000 kg CO2 reduction

The idea is simple.

Earning carbon credits can generate PROFITS for your company...

...but the process to gain approval is VERY COMPLEX.

Pro-Active-Research can help.

Through a network of carbon credit consulting firms, we will advise you on your carbon credit earnings when you use Pro-Active-Research solutions. We will work with you to guide your project through the approval process and help you sell your carbon credit's to maximize your profit.

Pro-Active-Research has an international network of carbon credit broker companies.

How do Carbon Credits work?

A company implements any new way to reduce CO2 emissions. This leads to less carbon emissions compared to their baseline (the emissions which would happen without the project). The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) then issues the company with a Carbon Emission Reduction credit (CER) for every metric tonne of annual CO2 reduction. The company can then assign these to a carbon credit broker company to sell.

Carbon Credit Terms:

The carbon credits are an economic instrument derived from the Kyoto Protocol. They can only be generated by the mechanisms established in the Kyoto Protocol. There are different types of credits:

• CER: certified emission reduction: it represents one tonne of CO2 not generated or emitted into the atmosphere. They must be certified by a clean development mechanism (CDM).

• ERU: emissions reduction unit: equivalent amount of one tonne CO2 not emitted to the atmosphere due to a joint implementation (JI) project.
